Why I can't work late anymore
Everyday around 5 I find myself at work looking at the clock. I should stay, but I have to come home and see my little boy... Oh and my wife.
I took this photo as I walked in the door. Everyday, I get home, open the door, walk into the house and my baby and wife "scare" me. Victor thinks this is the funniest thing, he laughs and laughs and then tries to climb the wall. No, really he tries to climb the wall.
After he "scares" me and scales up the wall he jumps into my arms and takes me around the house showing me things, a cup here, mommy in the kitchen, his toys on the ground. Before I spent this time at work, now there are more important things to do; like look at the airplanes in the sky, Victors new favorite pastime.
I almost feel bad for ViaSat for my lack of productivity, almost. They say that your productivity drops after 9 hours of work, so I guess I am more productive now, in my 8 - 9 hours than I was before in my 10 - 11 hours... I guess.

Isaac
This past weekend we had a celebration for our cousin Isaac. Isaac is serving our country and may be sent to Iraq sometime in the near future. This was the last time we would see him before his possible deployment. We got together at our usual gathering hole, "The Warren Household", and celebrated.
Isaac, good luck to you!! You are in our thoughts and prayers each and everyday.

What did you put in my cappuccino?
The following was an e-mail sent to Mr. Bobby Warren, after having drank one of his toxic cappuccinos. So sit back, relax, grab a good cup of coffee, and enjoy...
Bobbie,
I hope one of these is your email address. I just
wanted to let you know that it is 1:00 a.m. and i have
not been able to fall asleep.
What did you put in my cappuccino?
I have swept, washed dishes, run the dishwasher,
cleaned Victor's toys, cleaned victor's high chair,
fixed the sofa covers, put away some presents,
basically I have done as much as I can without waking
up the whole household!!
WHAT DID YOU PUT IN MY CAPPUCCINO!!
Not even Starbucks has this effect on me. You must
have triple shot me or something!!
WHAT DID YOU PUT IN MY CAPPUCCINO??
AAAUUGGGHHH, my mind says sleep, me body just wants to
keep going, I am like the energizer bunny. Should I
mop? Should I clean the walls, should I clean the
bathrooms. It seems insane that I am having these
thoughts at 1:00 AM.
Again, WHAT DID YOU PUT IN MY CAPPUCCINO.
I don't even know what I am saying any longer. I am
on a caffeine high, I cannot even spell. My fingers
are going 100 miles a second. My thoughts are running
w/ the events of the day and everything I could be
doing and the sleep that I am missing, but do not miss
at all at this moment. What am I to do? If I keep
going I will drop dead at 2:30 a.m. then Victor will
wake up at 3:30 am. and so basically I will not get
any sleep. this is all your fault Bobbie. I know it
is. You did this to me, you and your evil coffee
machine from Will and Grace.
WHAT DID YOU PUT IN MY CAPPUCCINO?
I can only hope that the sleep monster will overcome
the caffeine giant soon. I can only pray. Bobbie,
Bobbie, Bobbie, how could you do this to me? Don't
you know how much I love to sleep? Well I suppose the
only thing left to do is to find a way to get you
back. I know you and Marie don't sleep, so i will
have to find something else to get you with. HMMMM,
perhaps your espresso machine will disappear, perhaps,
hmmm....What shall I do. I have only until the
effects of my caffeine high go away to create a plan.
Your only salvation is that I begin to slow down,
otherwise it will be payback time for you. I DON"T
care if you say you did nothing to my cappuccino. I
know you did..... I know you did...
Thanks a lot bobbie,
LULU :)-
Just when I thought I knew...
Just when I thought I knew how to put Victor down for a nap, he learns how to stand. Now he will stand and cry and cry and cry...So we had to start all over again...
Just when I thought I knew what schedule to put Victor on, he stopped taking hour and half naps and decided he needed only 2 half hour naps for the day, and he would cry for about 40 minutes before he went to sleep...
Just when I thought I knew how to keep Victor happy, he began to teeth and nothing I did would make him happy. Thank God for Orajel and Tylenol!!
Just when I thought I knew what kind of food Victor liked, he decided he would not eat carrots (which used to be his favorite) and will not open his mouth for anything that looks orange...
Just when I thought I knew how to be a good parent, Victor began to crawl, climbed up the stool, and got a black-eye...
Just when I thought I had this whole housewife thing down, cleaning, cooking, taking care of baby, Victor stopped sleeping as long and nothing got done...
Just when I thought I knew...

Red Tide
This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. So the past couple of weeks the ocean waters have looked red and yucky (that's not the amazing thing). I had heard people talking about the "red tide" and have heard about it before. People say that the water glows. My thoughts, "sure, it does." So finally, Tom and I dragged poor Victor with us to the beach in the evening, after his bedtime. We watched the beautiful sunset, grabbed some Boba, sat in the car (Victor had conked out) and waited for the last light of the sun to fade. As it did, the eeriest, most amazing, beautiful thing happened, THE WATER GLOWED. It glowed a neon blue color. As the waves crashed down, the foam of the waves GLOWED. Of course we forgot our camera, but I don't think we would have caught the phenomenon. You have to see it in person. It was like a light show. You know the glow sticks they sell at Disneyland? Well it kinda looked like that, but more huge and in water. I was able to find some picture on the Internet about the Red Tide. Check them out, they don't do justice, but give you an idea of how it may look. If you get the chance, I definitely would recommend you get out here to see it. I don't know how long it will last, and have heard that when the water temperature increases the organisms that cause the glow will die. Here are some pictures and explaination of the Red Tide:

A "red tide" is a discoloration of the ocean that results from unusually dense accumulations of phytoplankton, the single-celled "plants" of the sea...Like tiny fireflies, dinoflagellates can create their own light through an internal chemical reaction. Flashing is stimulated by mechanical agitation. After dark, you may observe a bluish glow along the crest of breaking waves. You may also notice your footprints glowing in the wet sand as you walk along the beach." Scripps Institute
