Carlsbad 5k

Today we ran the Carlsbad 5k. We were going to walk it, but then Medea, Annie, and I got some momentum and we ended up running it. Tom came along too. Medea was pushing her triple stroller, I was pushing my BOB double stroller, and Annie was pushing her double stroller. Tom was pushing, himself. He didn't want to be shown up by the moms pushing strollers, so he decided to try to keep up with us, even though he hasn't been exercising. He did really well and was able to keep up with the mommas. But you should call him and ask him how he is feeling!! I don't know if he will be able to walk tomorrow!

This was Tom and I's first 5k ever! It was so much fun, I loved it! We are definitely planning on doing it again next year. I wasn't sure I would be able to run all of it, but once you get out there, there are so many people and things to see that the time flies by. Before I knew it, we were coming up to the 2 mile marker. Not shortly after I was thinking that I would probably stop running soon. But then I heard the people cheering for Medea and her triple stroller and that gave me an adrenaline rush. Then just as we were nearing the turn that marked the near of the finish line, I once again thought, "I might have to stop running". But then all the people really start cheering you on and another rush of adrenaline came through. Medea and I ran through the finish line together! Loved it!! SO much fun. We ended having a time of about 37 minutes. Not bad for starting out at the very back of the people's walk, having to stop and wait for the train to pass by, and then having to maneuver past all the people!

10, 9, 8, 7...

Victor has been so into rockets since Tom came back from Washington D.C. with a Saturn V for him, actually before then, but he really got into it when he got his own rocket. Victor is always talking about the stages and the boosters. So, one day a few months back, my boys decided it would be fun to shoot off a couple of rockets. Tom went out and got this rocket for Victor and told him they could shoot it off as soon as we got home. Well of course, the rocket had to be put together. Victor wasn't too happy about this, but he waited. When it came time to set off the rocket, he decided it might be too loud and didn't want anything to do with pushing the button. Of course, Jonas was willing to push the button, so Victor decided he better push the button. It ended being a fun afternoon and here are a few pictures I was able to take. Oh and Tom decided to shoot off another "baby rocket" in the middle of a field. Well, needless to say that rocket is still orbiting space, because we haven't seen it since!

The boys are ready for Padres baseball. Victor keeps asking us when we are going to go to a game. Hey kid, chill out, baseball season just started!! Hmmm....maybe this will mean I will get some Sundays all to myself???
