Dropping you off

Victor,

We just got back from dropping you off on your 1st day. Daddy worked from home this morning, so he could be here to take you to school too. You were so happy and excited. I made you a hamburger for lunch, hoping that you will have lots of energy for the day (to learn, not jump off the walls!). You found Matthew and you guys sat together on the mat inside the class. All the parents went in to take pictures, so I, of course, had to follow. I took your picture and you said, "Bye Momma!", with a big smile and wave. No tears! Good job! You can't wait to play on the playground! I did pretty good too, I felt the tears want to pour out when I gave you a kiss and told you to have a good day. But they didn't! I hope your 1st day is going great! It's so hot today, I am glad that I remember to freeze your water! Since it was so hot, Jonas enjoyed a popsicle when we got home, his cheeks were soo red! See you in a few! Love you my Victor!

1st Day of Kindergarten

Happy 1st day of Kindergarten Victor!! You are very excited to start kindergarten, though also a little timid. You keep saying, "But I won't know anybody!" Mommy and Daddy keep telling you that you will meet and make new friends in no time. Today at the orientation, we found out that you will be in class with Matthew. You and Matthew met at church when you were just a few months old! You still weren't convinced you knew anyone!

You also jumped up and down with joy when it was 2 days left to start school! You love your backpack that has Ironman, Spiderman, Wolverine, and the Hulk. We may need to get you a new one sooner than planned, the darn zipper is already giving us trouble! That's what happens when I shop at Walmart! You also love your new black/blue Transformers lunch bag. You kept thanking me for getting it for you. You couldn't wait to put a pear in it for your snack! You chose your shoes and are trying to learn how to tie them. You are a little concerned about the uniform (khaki or blue pants with white or blue collar shirt), you wondered if you were "cool"...I tried to assure you that all the kids would be wearing the same thing!

I am torn about you going to school. It brings tears to my eyes because I am soo PROUD of you! You are my first little boy. This is one of the many steps we have to take to let you go, so that you can gain some independence. I worry about the influences of the other kids on you and yours on them! You love to play laser (aka guns w/o having to say the word) and cannons. I hope that you choose great friends that uplift you and you uplift them! I hope you can talk to me when you are scared, sad, and/or confused. I hope you run to me with excitement to tell me about the things that you learned/saw/did at school. I pray that you are safe and that nothing bad will happen to you and that noone will harm you. I have to start cutting the cord that I like to pretend is not there! But at times like this I realize how tightly I am holding on!

I love you my Victor! You are intelligent, loving, ingenious, etc, etc. Always choose the path that leads you to good, you will not go wrong! You will do great on your first day of school!

Love you,
Momma

Dinosaurs at the WAP

We recently visited the dinosaurs at the Wild Animal Park with Tia Leti and Andrew. Victor was afraid of the T-rex, but Jonas and Andrew couldn't get enough of it! We also were able to go earlier in the season with Tia Lidia and Abuelita too! Here are some pics of our excursions! This is two trips combined!
